Now more than ever students need to feel a sense of safety, connection and belonging with their fellow students. In an age with so many distractions from social media and the stressors in our world, students need a place they can feel safe and belong. Well-led social play is one of the fastest and most direct ways to build this sense of safety, connection and trust. An added benefit is the joy, fun, self-care and connection that happens for the teachers themselves that in this PD Day experience with the Heart of Play.

Join us this summer for a regional conversation and networking event where we will discuss improving literacy outcomes for all students across the content areas. The morning is an opportunity for networking, learning, and hearing from colleagues on best-practice ideas for evidence-based literacy pedagogy.

Are you looking to have more continuity in your program throughout the school year? In this session, we will learn how to make a broad plan that you can use to scaffold instruction for years to come. Tools and resources we will consider in our planning include: your district priorities, NYS Standards, the Information Fluency Continuum, your Member Plan the SLP Rubric, and more. Lunch is included!

Have you set up your Library.FYI page but need some help on next steps? Or have you not had a chance to set it up yet at all but would like to? This two-hour, in-person workshop is for you!

We will go over what Library.FYI is and how to navigate it, and participants will have working time to customize their FYI page with SLS help present, if needed.

Join elementary librarian Stacey Rattner and high school librarian Alicia Abdul, who will spotlight book titles for students at all levels. Combining their love of literature with practical discussions on reading in and out of school, participants will also leave with a booklist in addition to ideas for activities and events. Intended audience: school librarians, teachers, teaching assistants, PK-12. Registration starts at 8:30. Light refreshments and lunch are included.
